KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a virtualization infrastructure for the Linux kernel that turns it into a hypervisor. KVM requires a processor with hardware virtualization extension. Multiple VMs running unmodified Linux or Windows images can be run using KVM. Each virtual machine has private virtualized hardware, including a network card, disk, graphics adapter and more.
